Greetings :)
Thank you for praying! We had a blessed week sharing the Gospel. See below if you want to read about what we did :D
Very important! We are planning to do a "Reverse Halloween" outreach on Monday, October 31st. It's a perfect opportunity to walk up to homes that are already expecting visitors! However, we will not be taking, we will be giving... isn't it better to give than to receive? Yes! And that's what we are going to do!!! Give, give, give and give the Good News!!! Here are the details so far... and if you plan on joining us, or helping us with the cost, please let me know ASAP!!!
Halloween Outreach:
Here are the details so far... this will keep developing:
- Most people that have already responded want to dress up in costume (so far we have a Moses, a Roman Centurion, etc... I will probably dress as a female Bible character or something). But, a few have mentioned they do not want to dress up, which is no problem! So.... if you want to wear a biblically themed costume, please do! If you do not want to, then come however you are most comfortable.
- Children are MORE than welcome... I think it will be so much fun for them too!
- We are going to give houses a little goodie bag with a Gospel of John booklet, a few tracts, some candy, a list of churches that are participating.
- Our intention is to HAVE FUN, BLESS the homes and the other people walking around. I assume with how busy the neighborhoods will be we may not be able to engage in much conversation, and so we will mainly be delivering the Good News goodie-bags and blessing the people. If the opportunity arises that we can have one-to-one conversation, praise the Lord, we will certainly do so!
- We will meet before we go out to pray.
- I am hoping to do the outreach in the Smithtown, Hauppauge, Islip area.... I am also hoping we can possibly meet at Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle to pray beforehand and go out from there.
- The time is yet to be determined. If you plan on coming, please let me know the earliest you can meet to pray and go.
- The Saturday before the outreach, we will meet at my home to put together packets and pray. That will be on October 29th.
God bless you!!!
Nicole
PS - If you have not yet seen the movie "Courageous" PLEASE go and see it!!! It was a fantastic movie and we certainly need to support good, clean, moral movies like this one! About 30 of us met up at the theater and had dinner afterwards on the opening night... it was WONDERFUL!!! Also, if you have not yet viewed this documentary, please do so... it's 30 minutes of incredible footage and you will see people change their minds from being pro-choice to PRO-LIFE!!!!! Amazing.... please watch and PASS ON. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y2KsU_dhwI
****** This week's evangelism schedule is highlighted in pink below the following notes ******
LAST WEEK’S OUTREACHES:
We handed out tracts and spoke to people at a carnival just outside of Port Jefferson on Saturday. We first prayed at Bruce and Mary's home and then went out as Mary interceded from home for us. We shared with quite a few people... it was a little challenging, but by God's grace we were able to capture the attention of some people in the midst of such amusements all around! By God's grace alone were we able to speak to anyone :) Here are just a few stories about what happened:
A large group of young people (all between 10-14 years old): When we first got there, we approached a very large group of kids and handed them all tracts. They were very curious about us and so we started asking them questions about God. We shared with them about sin, what prevents us from going to Heaven, how to be forgiven. We spent considerable time with one Jewish girl named Rachel. We shared about Christ the Messiah and she really listened as another friend sat beside her and listened too.
Lilly: A young girl, maybe about 13 years old, who interrupted Bruce as he was sharing the Gospel with a young man to ask if we were against gay marriage. Bruce told her he would address her question once he was finished, and she backed away, just looking on. So I went over to her and asked her what she thought. Shared with her how we do not "hate" gay people as she was supposing, shared the truth about homosexuality with her (I think she might be considering a gay lifestyle). She was quite armed with twisted ideas like... she said lesbian parents raise more confident and happy children. When she toldl me that, I encouraged her to research the source of her information and told her that it is a multi-million dollar industry that is looking to indoctrinate her mind with false information. I shared the Gospel with her, and pointed out that homosexuality is just like any other sin, and that all sin needs to be accounted for. As the group broke up, she kept the tract.
A group of boys, all about 8 years old: I asked them if they believed in God. They all said either NO, or I am not sure. One kid said, "there is no proof!" So I showed him how proof of the Creator is seen in His creation by using a few examples. They all kept the tracts. I am hoping it at least put a seed of doubt in their minds about atheism!
Bruce and Frank were at Babylon Train Station on Monday:
"Frank showed up and together we ministered to Tommy... and it was great. We shared the gospel message and the people around got to hear. It was the first time Frank had heard a Christian rap song. He didn't even know such a thing existed. It was great to see his expression and amazement. We also spoke to Kyle, probably around 30, he had just gotten out of prison. He was very enthusiastic for the Lord. He was looking for a home church, and was considering the Seven Day Adventists. Gave him a warning about them and encouraged him into a more solid Bible base church. He held some strange doctrines that we discussed, but his heart was towards the Lord. And we spoke with Tommy, 37, was struggling with his walk with the Lord. He has fallen into drinking and had lost his wife not too long ago. He had a fight with his family who are Christians and has not been talking to them since then. We talked with Tommy for quite a while, we shared many scriptures with him and prayed together for him. Tommy had also song us a few Christian rap songs, they were actually very good. Right now he is with Social Services for housing. Please pray for these who have gone astray. Jesus leaves the ninety-nine to find the one. Lord help us to find the ones who are lost, driven away, broken and hurt. They are out there in the highways and the byways." Amen!

SUGGESTIONS FOR THINGS TO PRAY FOR US:
Please pray….
- For the evangelism schedule... that we get there safely, have favor with weather, etc!
- For those that heard the Gospel in one-to-one conversations this week.
- That we continue to have favor with the authorities wherever we are.
- For the many men and women that hear the Gospel preached at the Lighthouse Mission Riverhead outreaches.
- That we are filled with the Holy Spirit, led by Him, through the entire outreach.
- That the Holy Spirit goes before us in each and every outreach… preparing hearts!
- For the homeless we meet at the train stations… that we can minister to them through sharing the Gospel and to help them in any other way we should.
- That those of us going out really pray and develop an even closer walk with the Lord.
- "For the Kingdom of God is not in word but in power." (1 Cor 4:20) to be a reality in our outreaches.
- For brother Bruce who has been discipling a new believer, Frank... they do a bible study every Monday night in the Babylon Train Station after evangelizing and Bruce teaches so that others sitting around can listen too!
- For the health and well-being of those that are evangelizing!
- For NY, Long Island, the especially the Brighton Beach area where many Jewish believers are witnessing to the Jewish people there... pray that God's Word would penetrate hearts and they would come to believe that Christ is the Messiah they are waiting for.
- For students on college campuses to be open to preachers that are sharing the Gospel nationwide at campuses.
- For groups like Change Collegian Network, Living Waters, Open-Air Campaigners, Evangelism Explosion... these groups train Christians to share the Gospel in a Biblical way.
- That we are kept safe from the enemy as we share the Gospel.
- For our continued boldness and love to share the Gospel.
- For those that heard the Gospel, received tracts and bibles last week… that the Lord touches their heart with the truth.
- For evangelists and missionaries traveling across this country and abroad to share the Gospel!
- That the Lord would thrust out more laborers into the field to share the Gospel!
EVENTS:
** If you have an event at your church that has to do with missions, evangelism, apologetics, etc, please let me know and I will include it here!
Evangelism Prayer Circle: Two wonderful sisters (Patty and Grace) have been praying specifically for evangelism every week. They are now going to start a "prayer circle" where each week every person that joins will be part of a chain of prayer... from one person to the next until the prayer goes back to the first praying person. This will all be done by phone and anyone from anywhere is invited to join in! It will start in January, so please call Patty if you want to join or if you need more information at
631-979-5187
The Truth Project: This is an incredible 13-week DVD-based course with lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett. This study is the starting point for looking at life from a biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great details the relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life. Go to
www.thetruthproject.org to learn more. This course is periodically offered in the following churches on Long Island, please contact the particular church for details... Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle

ON-GOING EVENTS:
- The Lighthouse Mission is a Long Island based ministry that is dedicated to sharing the Gospel, feeding the hungry, supplying necessary items for school, etc to the hungry and needy of Long Island. They have outreaches EVERY WEEK, all week long, and in various locations. If you are interested, visit their website at

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE OUTREACHES:
When we get to the site, we first pray for God to lead us, fill us, guide us, open hearts and protect us. Then we usually walk the area, praying and handing out tracts. As we hand out tracts, we start to talk to people about their spiritual beliefs, background and what they think will happen to them when they die. We listen to their hearts, we ask them questions and then ask them if we can share the Gospel with them. We usually get to share the Gospel with many, many people when we are out... young, old, rich, poor, happy and sad people. Sometimes we may ask them if they want to receive Christ, other times we just encourage them to look into what we are saying further. We usually ask them if they have any prayer needs, and if they do, we pray for them right there. Often we run into other Christians and are able to encourage them and pray for them too! We close the time together in prayer and thanksgiving to God for giving us the privilege to share the Good News with this lost and dying world.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED:
- Are you a praying Christian? You can pray for us from your own home, at prayer meetings, or whenever the Lord puts us on your heart! Or you can join us in the field and intercede while the Gospel goes forth!
- Are you a singing Christian? We can coordinate an outreach with singing to attract a crowd to share the Gospel with them!
- Are you a Christian with a burden to reach the lost but are fearful? Come and just be with us in the field... we don't push anyone to do anything, but if you want to learn, just come!
- What gifts and talents has the Lord given you? We can be so creative in this day and age to share the Gospel!!! Write to me or call if you have ideas, suggestions or want to get involved but just don't know how. :)
RESOURCES FOR SHARING YOUR FAITH:
- The Bible - FIRST and FOREMOST: (Nothing compares to digging deep into scripture to find God's heart on the matter. If we are so very familiar and intimate with God's Truth, the lies of the enemy will stand out to us without a problem. Let's get deeper into His Word, deeper into knowing Him, deeper into His nature and character. Get out that concordance, get out your study guides!!!).
- Websites like:
