Are there any Christian Women Left????:

Hello everyone. I figured my headline might catch a few eyes, hopefully. I am a Christian man that is a dad to an 8year old girl and a 10 year old boy. I am involved in my church as a youth leader, I also coach children under 11 in a Christian soccer league, I am a 7th grade Social Studies teacher, I am currently taking a class with friends from my church called Love and Respect and I can have many people attest to my character. Why did I write this you might ask? Well, I am seeking a saved Christian woman that would like to meet a really nice man of God. Are there any Christian women out there????
Hope you are all enjoying your Memorial Day weekend!
God Bless,
Roger

Hi Roger,

I'm new to the site, and of course, your headline caught my eye. I think there are plenty of real Christians available, but are we all so gunshy of relationships that we have trouble dating? finding the good ones? connecting somehow-some-way?

I understand your question, because I have somewhat convinced myself that all the good, decent men that believe in God, marriage, and family are all, indeed, married.

After a horrible marriage, it took me years...YEARS... to think about dating again. I had been with the same guy--either dating, engaged, or married--for 20 years, and it was 6 more years beyond that before I went on a date with someone else. That's tough stuff. I suspect that other women--Christian and otherwise--feel similarly.

For awhile, I was kinda hoping for a "could be Mr. Right" to fall through my ceiling like a divine Sputnik tumble, but God, I think, does things differently. I did fall in love again, deeply, with a "Mr. sure-the-heck-seems Right," but he changed his mind after a little over a year. What makes relationships so much more difficult for Christians may be the fact that we DO believe in marriage and forever and Godly meetings and divine appointments. I learned, though, that God may allow 2 people to cross paths that he feels are right for each other, but he leaves it up to us to make it work. It's the spectacular concept of freewill; he loves us freely, and allows us to choose him freely. Forced love brings no joy. So it is with relationships. God may provide us with our hearts' desires, but it's up to us to take it from there. These are my theories, I guess, from my experiences.

By the way, I am a teacher, also, in case you didn't notice from my long ramblings. High school English now, and over 20 years of a bzillion different things in Christian settings. I think that's what makes me always look for a lesson in things (and write/talk too much).

Lori,

I totally get where you're coming from, as my past experience left me with the same emotions as you have described. I have to say though, that God has been good to me, as His Love and Mercy have filled me. I know God is in control and it's all according to His time.

Blessing,
Diana

Erin, Lori, Yenesia and Diana,
Thanks for commenting. Believe me I understand where you are coming from regarding healing from past experiences and being cautious about your future. I am very cautious also because of my children, who are 8 and 10 years of age respectively. I accept the fact that the lord is in charge of my life and that he will put someone in my path that would be good for me if it is his will. I therefore leave my heart open to all possibilities. Lori, I love the sputnik idea....lol
Blessings,
Roger :-)
