Dominion and the Purpose of God

The purpose of God is consistent within the realms of the natural world and the supernatural.
From the beginning His redemptive plan, character and purpose were unswerving, leading man’s restoration to the lost earthly authority, and in keeping with his complete free will.
“…Let them have dominion…over ALL the earth” (Genesis 1:26-27)
“You made him ruler over the works of his hands; you put EVERYTHING under his feet” (Psalms 8:6)
“The highest Heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth He has given to man” (Psalms 115:16)

God’s Word carries this consistency through the ages; he places himself under the ruling of His own Word.
As the Second Adam, Christ becomes our model of dominion and authority:
1. Jesus came as a man. He conquered Calvary, relaying on the Father’s Grace and the Spirit of God,
as we humans can too.
2. Jesus was the perfect ‘lamb’ qualifying to be the Son of God, defeating sin and death through His
sacrifice on the cross.
3. His resurrection marks the transferring/regaining of the authority over the earth from Satan.
He is our rightful King.

The authority won by Jesus was transferred to mankind through spiritual rebirth as we see in John 3:5
( Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God)
Could have Christ come as God Himself? In terms of His power and sovereignty, oh YES!
“…and upholding all things by the word of His power…” (Hebrews 1:3)
“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3)
But, it would have been in violation of the earthly authority established from the beginning. God is a spirit, thus He had to come as a man into this realm to fulfill His purpose. He put on flesh, mortal flesh.
God could have clearly changed the course of history, right after the fall of man, but it wouldn’t have been consistent neither with His Word nor His eternal plan. The Bible states in Leviticus 17:11 “…For it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” Then, during the Last Supper the Lord Himself reaffirms the continuity of His purpose “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matthew 26:28)
The shedding of His blood had to be carried out in the natural, in time and space to have supernatural everlasting consequences.
If God can intervene at will, then Calvary would be meaningless, and so the Father's decision to send His Son to die on the cross.
The realm of the Natural and the Supernatural is peppered all over the scriptures cementing the consistency of these two dominions. When the Lord resurrected Lazarus He could have ‘flipped’ the stone with the snap of His finger, but instead He taught us that, that action was within the realm of man’s physical power, and that He would intervene in the supernatural, of which we don’t even believe, but nevertheless are capable of accomplishing just like He did. “…he groaned in the spirit and was troubled, and He said where have ye laid him?” (John 11:33-34) “…Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that this man should have not died?” (John 11:37) (The man commenting on the Lord, was projecting in the natural and the miraculous without having an understanding neither of His character nor of His purpose) “Jesus said, Take YE the stone…” (John 11:39)
The implications of God stepping over His Word, would have catastrophic consequences by nullifying His authority, making prayer being more like begging rather than accessing the Father in complete rightful authority. Satan would have not been defeated. We would not be able to accept our calling in Christ, and neither be partakers of His covenant.
Our world, the domain of man, is subjected to natural laws, of which man had studied intensely, acquiring an inconceivable amount of knowledge and scientific advancement. Roughly 100 years ago two men teetered with a flying machine. Today man sends proves to distant worlds millions of miles away.
“And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach into heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth” (Genesis 11:4)
The self sufficiency of man based in his own power is within his nature. God created man's free will and an obvious superb intellect, and a brilliant creative power “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created him; male and female created him” Genesis 1:27) God placed man in the garden, and immediately put him to work, according to His eternal purpose; to tend and cultivate “and there was not a man to till the ground” (Genesis 2:5) “And the Lord God took the man, and put it into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it” The realm of that physical and spiritual garden was supposed to spread all over the earth. God being the Ruler of heaven, made man to express His authority on this world. Man was equipped with both a physical and spiritual nature, so he could interact with God and spread His character and nature. In (Psalms 82:6) He states “You are ‘gods’; you are sons of the Most High” reflecting His own nature, not His deity. Created beings in the essence of God to fulfill and depend on His righteous and perfect Will.
God wanted us to be equal in nature, being established as He created us, and in purpose through the constant communion with Him. Two different natures, two dominions, one supporting the other. One temporary and the other eternal; both realms made in God's purpose to interrelate through the Spirit of God, and to establish a relationship for ever with man as His emissary, and as a “sons of the Most High” to carry on with His Plan into eternity, even “when time would be no more”
Man could not survive in this world unless he possesses the nature of God, to be the ruler “over the works of your hands” and the desire to do His will. Jesus said “It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God”
God in His wisdom understood the fragility of man’s state; it is not possible for him to accomplish anything at all but with the constant spiritual outreaching to the authority in heaven “your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:9-11)
God created the rules for this realm for man to follow; He gave him a free will to accomplish everything that his knowledge and understanding won’t suffice to achieve his own destiny, and that is to seek God “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” (proverbs 19:21)
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah 33:3)
